Tell us about your background. Where are you from? What brought you to Mpala? What have been some of your previous roles?
My background is that I am from Homa Bay County. I am a registered projects Clerk of Woks with Institutes of Clerk of Works Kenya (ICWK/108) as an associate Member with over eleven (11) years working experience in the Construction industry as projects Clerk of Works with Government, Corporates and private institutions. I am also accredited by the National Construction Authority(NCA)REG. No.NCA/SS/2017/19278 as Projects Inspector. I came to Mpala to work as Projects Coordinator and to oversee and manage the construction of new and maintenance to the existing infrastructures. Previously, I was working at the University of Embu as the University Projects Clerk of Works for a very long period of time, up to the time I was joining Mpala. During this time, I managed several meager projects at the University to their completion with the mighty one being the Construction of a six storey Building Tuition Block with a capacity of 10,000 occupants at ago.
What projects are you currently working on at Mpala? What are your goals?
I am Working at Mpala as Projects Coordinator. During this time at Mpala, I have worked on Solar Project, Road Constructions and now looking forward to working on Staff housing Project and delivering it to a world class standards.
My role has been monitoring,evaluation, and supervision of the below listed works on the roads.
1. Openings or bush clearing to the roads
2. Grading work of the roads
3. Gravelling to the roads
4. Construction of culverts and drifts to the roads
5. Preparations of progress reports, minutes for the meeting
6. Scheduling of site inspections and meetings for the roads.
7. Coordinating the road works activities

What impact do you believe your time at Mpala will have on your professional career?
Very great positive impacts like continue to deliver successful projects as per my carrier and interacts with new people and foreigners from abroad to exchange ideas in the construction industry.
