Savannah Ecology

Mpala Research Centre is located on 48,000 acres of savannah. Savannahs are some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet, home to many of the most charismatic megafauna, and also play a vital role in sequestering carbon and feeding communities around the world. We use our ‘living lab’ to understand the dynamics that shape this ecosystem and how a changing climate is impacting its interconnected systems.
