The Journey Home follows the careful translocation of black rhinos to Loisaba Conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya — a milestone for rhino conservation in the region. The film captures the planning, veterinary care, transport and release of these endangered animals as part of a long-term effort to expand habitat and grow Kenya’s black rhino population.
Mpala Research Centre and partner conservancies have been working alongside Kenya Wildlife Service to monitor populations, secure habitat, and support the recovery of one of Africa’s most threatened large mammals.
