Mpala provides diverse educational opportunities grounded in field-based learning, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Programs include university field courses hosted at Mpala, courses designed and taught by Mpala-affiliated scientists, internships, filmmaking and storytelling programs, virtual curriculum through Mpala Live, and specialized opportunities for primary, secondary school, undergraduate, and graduate students. Learning at Mpala is closely tied to ongoing research and long-term experiments across the landscape. Students engage directly with scientists and field research while gaining hands-on experience in inquiry, experimentation, observation, and problem solving. As Mpala’s educational mission continues to grow, new courses and learning opportunities are continually being developed.
