Tell us about your background.
I was born in Karatina, Nyeri County. I first came to work at Mpala in 2019 as a Research Assistant on the Buffelgrass Project. Previously, I was working on the acacias in the green house for Harvard University with Dr. Dino Martins.
What projects are you currently working on at Mpala? What are your research goals?
I work hard with my teammates to assist researchers and students who work in our lab to collect their data. For example, I taught the Daraja students how to collect insect data and how to identify them.

What is one of your favourite things about working at Mpala?
One thing I love about working at Mpala is the training to improve staff knowledge. The other thing is the learning I go through on a daily basis by being at Mpala.
What impact do you believe your time at Mpala will have on your professional career?
My belief and hope is that by the end of my stay at Mpala, I will have grown to a new level from where I am right now. I hope to gain more ecology skills, which might help me get new and high jobs in my field of work.
