Job Vacancy: Research Interns

VULTURINE GUINEAFOWL RESEARCH PROGRAMME

Researchers from the Vulturine Guineafowl Research Programme have established an exciting research project on the social behaviour and ecology of the Vulturine Guineafowl at the Mpala Research Centre in Laikipia, Kenya. Since August 2016 over 1000 guineafowl have been fitted with colour bands and 250 with GPS tags. With members of the current team moving onto new opportunities (e.g. PhD and MSc programmes), we are seeking one to two new interns to assist in research activities. If you are a Kenyan citizen, have a driving license, some of the skills listed below, and would love to work on this project, please send an email with a single PDF document including:

  5. School and University certificates
  6. Copy of driving license

Skills that will be highly appreciated:

  1. English competence (written and spoken)
  2. Excellent driving skills
  3. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  4. Basic computer knowledge (writing emails, processing EXCEL files) and willingness
    to learn more
  5. Experience in wildlife research or with livestock (handling birds would be
    advantageous)
  6. Diploma or BSc degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences or equivalent. MSc
    holders are also encouraged to apply.
