Nelly Palmeris is a seasoned conservationist and strategic manager with over two decades of experience in wildlife management and conservation. As a dedicated advocate for wildlife and community engagement, she has successfully led initiatives to protect Kenya’s diverse ecosystems. Her accomplishments have been recognized nationally and internationally, earning her accolades such as being named one of the “TOP 40 Women under 40” by the East African Daily.
Her educational journey, which includes a Master in Business Administration (Strategic Management), various certifications in wildlife management, strategic leadership and extensive training in community development, underscores her commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in her field.
Nelly serves as the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer of Mpala where she continues to make strides in research and conservation. She is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, providing leadership across all departments, and ensuring that Mpala’s mission to advance scientific understanding and education for the sustainable management of critical ecosystems thrives. Nelly works with a team to promote research and collaborations in seeking to further scientific knowledge and address today’s challenge as well as improve livelihoods in the landscape and beyond.
