Zebra Genetics Project

Zebra Genetics Project

Grevys Stallion Megan McDaniels

The Zebra Genetics Project extends Mpala’s zebra research by using genomic analysis of known individuals to understand population structure, connectivity, paternity, microbiome variation, and the risk of inbreeding across subpopulations. By pairing dung samples with photographed zebras, the project strengthens the conservation value of long-term field observation with genetic evidence.
