Mpala is located on the Laikipia plateau in north central Kenya, just north of the Equator, northwest of Mt. Kenya. It covers 48,000 acres of savannah and dry woodland habitats and is bordered by Ewaso Ngiro and the Ewaso Narok rivers. The land hosts Mpala. We seek a dynamic, committed and dedicated individual to work as a data management specialist in the Turkana Health Genomics project. The project focuses on the Turkana people of Northern Kenya. This project is a collaboration between Princeton University and Mpala.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees and manages data entry.
- Provide data quality control in a database.
- Serves as the point person for data-related tasks.
- Address field data-related questions.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Extensive knowledge of data preparation procedures and requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or similar software.
- Basic computer knowledge (writing emails, processing EXCEL files) and willingness to learn more.
- Diploma or Degree in Business management, Records management or Data management.
- Experience in research would be advantageous.
